Grundfos works with ICDK to discover industrial innovation in India

In March 2025, Innovation Centre Denmark, Bangalore organised an inspirational learning tour for Group Advanced Manufacturing Engineering, Grundfos. The aim was to explore India’s dynamic and fast-evolving manufacturing and innovation ecosystem. The visit was entirely exploratory in nature – a strategic opportunity to gather fresh insights and global inspiration as Group AME, Grundfos sharpens its perspective on the future of sustainable manufacturing.

As global supply chains shift and technology reshapes production, companies like Grundfos are seeking inspiration from global innovation hubs to stay ahead of the curve. For Group AME, Grundfos, the visit offered a valuable opportunity towards understanding how India is positioning itself through digitalisation, additive manufacturing, automation, and academic–industry linkages.

India’s Industry 4.0, Up Close

Over five days, ICDK curated a comprehensive programme across Bangalore and Chennai, helping the delegation engage with leading academic institutions, R&D centres, and advanced manufacturers. From AI applications and robotics to digital twins and frugal innovation, the programme offered a front-row seat to India’s Industry 4.0 journey.

In addition to technology and process innovations, the delegation gained valuable perspectives on inclusive employment practices and workforce development – key elements in India’s maturing industrial framework. Constructive and mutual knowledge exchange formed a central pillar of the visit, with candid conversations and reflections benefiting both Indian and Danish participants.
