The ambition of the new agreement is to provide Danish start-ups, researchers, and research institutions with better opportunities to collaborate with the state on crucial societal challenges and critical technologies such as climate solutions, biotech, AI, and quantum. 

Since 2019, one of Denmark’s seven global innovation centres has been operating from Boston, Massachusetts, and the centre will now play a crucial role in translating the ambitions of the agreement into actual collaborative projects. 

Boston - particularly the innovation district Kendall Square - is a global powerhouse for knowledge-based innovation, with a strong concentration of universities, research institutions, hospitals, and high-tech companies. Additionally, the state is also home to world-leading universities such as Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
