With the 2030 and 2045 climate goals in focus, this initiative builds on Denmark’s Green Research Strategy from 2020, reinforcing a mission-driven approach that accelerates green innovation. The core objective is to develop, implement, and scale green solutions in key sectors, including agriculture, food production, energy, and transportation. By addressing both national and global environmental challenges.
Central to this initiative is a strategic investment of 15 billion DKK in green research and innovation over the next decade, coupled with enhanced public-private partnerships and international collaborations. Through a combination of scientific advancements, policy frameworks, and real-world applications, Denmark aims to accelerate its green transition while also fostering global partnerships.
The initiative is structured around four core areas: Ambitious Investments in Green Research and Innovation, strengthening Mission-Oriented Efforts with a New Holistic Approach, Turbocharging Green Solutions for Agriculture and Food Production, and Fundamental Considerations for a Green and Secure Future. By focusing on these areas, Denmark seeks to lead the way in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, creating sustainable jobs, and enhancing global competitiveness in green technologies.
